About 792 women supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State.
Receiving the decampees, wife of the Governor, Dr. Amina Umar Namadi, congratulated the women and assured them that the APC doors remain open to all who wish to join the movement for the state’s development.
The Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, said the Umar Namadi-led administration is committed to improving the lives of ordinary citizens, noting that the governor has excelled among his counterparts in delivering the dividends of democracy.
The event, hosted by Birnin Kudu LG Chairman, Dr. Muhammed Uba Builder, also featured remarks from APC leaders including Zonal Chairman Yahaya Ahali Sakwaya and the APC Women Leader. Dr. Amina was accompanied by wives of top government officials and other party stalwarts.
