Kila Community Groups Honour 12 Distinguished Sons of the Town

The Kila Community Progressive Association (KICOPA) and the Kila Youth Development Forum (KYDF) have honoured 12 prominent indigenes of Kila town in Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the development and progress of the community.

The honour, which took place at Kofar Fada Kila on June 6, 2026, was organised as part of efforts by the two community-based organisations to appreciate individuals whose selfless service and support have positively impacted the lives of the people.

According to the organisers, the award ceremony was designed to celebrate sons of the community who have distinguished themselves through various contributions towards the social and economic development of Kila town.

The award recipients include Hon. Liman, Sani Kila, Prof. Abubakar Sabo, Malam Sagir Muhammad Sani, Alhaji Tijjani Na’inga, Alhaji Salisu Damanga, Alhaji Ayuba Dan Mu’azu, Abubakar Mai Cincin, Hon. Murtala Yusuf, Dr. Mustapha Mansur, Rabi’u Sabo, Kamilu Isah and Malam Magaji Danbaba.

Speaking at the event, representatives of the organisers said the recognition was aimed at encouraging greater community participation and inspiring younger generations to contribute meaningfully to the development of Kila and its people.

One of the awardees, Alhaji Sagirman Muhammad Kila, commended the efforts of the youth organisations for recognising the contributions of community members. He described the initiative as timely and encouraging, noting that it would motivate more people to support developmental activities in the area.

He further assured the youths of his continued support and commitment whenever the need arises, stressing the importance of unity, cooperation and collective responsibility in advancing the growth and prosperity of Kila community.

The organisers expressed appreciation to all the award recipients and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the programme, praying for Allah’s blessings and guidance upon them as they continue to serve humanity and the community.

The event attracted community leaders, youths, elders and well-wishers from within and outside Kila town.
