Former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, OFR, OCM, on Sunday, February 15, 2026, renewed his membership registration with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in his hometown of Hadejia, Jigawa State.
Babandede was welcomed by a massive crowd that escorted him from the city gate to his ward in Kasuwar Ƙuda. What would normally have been a brief walk lasted over four hours due to the overwhelming turnout of supporters eager to show their goodwill and support.
Speaking during the registration exercise, Babandede commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his efforts in addressing insecurity and supporting the Jigawa State Government in various capacities. He also praised the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Malam Umar Namadi Ɗanmodi, FCA, for his achievements and assured the governor of his continued loyalty and support.
He expressed gratitude to the people for their love, care, and patience, assuring them that he would continue to respond to their call.
Elder statesman Ambassador Haruna Ginsau described Babandede as a loyal APC member and affirmed that the party is proud of his commitment. The Ward Chairman also commended Babandede for his empathetic and genuine approach to party affairs.
Babandede later proceeded to the APC Local Government Secretariat in Hadejia, where he formally reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and reiterated his support for President Tinubu, Governor Namadi, and APC as his party of choice.
The APC Chairman in Hadejia Local Government described Babandede as a valued son of the soil, highlighting the party’s appreciation for his contributions to its growth and progress.
What was planned as a brief registration exercise extended to over five hours as supporters came out in large numbers from across Jigawa State, particularly from the Jigawa North East Senatorial District.
