The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has successfully completed yellow cards process for all the intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj, marking a major step in the state’s preparations for the annual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, disclosed this in a statement signed by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Habibu Yusuf Babura describing the achievement as a significant milestone. He noted that the yellow card, which serves as an international certificate of vaccination, is a compulsory requirement for entry into the Holy Land.
According to him, the Board has already commenced sorting the cards according to designated groups to ensure a smooth and organised process ahead of departure.
Labbo added that Jigawa State remains among the leading states in Nigeria in terms of early and efficient preparation for the 2026 Hajj operation.
He revealed that the Board is also intensifying orientation and training programmes for intending pilgrims across all 27 local government areas of the state to adequately prepare them for the spiritual journey.
The Director General commended staff of the Board for their dedication and cooperation, which he said contributed greatly to the timely completion of the exercise.
He also expressed appreciation to Governor Umar Namadi for his continuous support and commitment to the activities of the Board, assuring that all necessary measures are being put in place to ensure a hitch-free Hajj operation.
