The First Lady of Jigawa State, Hajiya Hadiza Umar A. Namadi, has empowered 500 women in the state with a N50,000 grant each under the Renewed Hope Initiative of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
The event, which took place at the Government House Banquet Hall, saw a total of N25 million disbursed to the beneficiaries. In her remarks, Hajiya Namadi encouraged the women to use the grant wisely to start or expand their businesses, become self-reliant, and contribute to the economic growth of the state.
The First Lady expressed her gratitude to the wife of the Speaker, Hajiya Zahrau Haruna Aliyu; the wife of the SSG, Hajiya Amina Bala Ibrahim; wives of Honourable Members; Commissioners; and Local Government Chairmen for their presence and support.

Hajiya Namadi congratulated the beneficiaries and prayed that the initiative would bring progress to the women and the state. The event was a resounding success, with the beneficiaries expressing their gratitude to the First Lady and the state government.

The Renewed Hope Initiative has been active in various states, supporting women through economic empowerment programs. The program in Jigawa State is part of a larger initiative that targets 18,500 women nationwide, with 500 beneficiaries from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The beneficiaries of the program in Jigawa State were overjoyed by the support and expressed their gratitude to the First Lady and the state government. They pledged to make good use of the grant and improve their businesses.
