The newly sworn-in Yobe state grand Khadi, Kadi Abba Alhaji Mammadi has assured to improve the conditions of sharia courts and enhance judicial efficiency, integrity and access to justice.
He gave the assurance when he led other management staff of the state Shari’a court division on an inspection visit to the local government in zones A and B, respectively.
The inspection visit by Khadi Abba Mammadi reflects his commitment to strengthening judicial services and enhancing access to justice across Shari’a courts in Yobe state.
These assurances highlight the grand Khadi’s focus on enhancing judicial efficiency, integrity, and improving access to justice across the state.
In all the places visited the grand Khadi stressed the need to enlighten Shari’a judges on new measures to ease adjudication and encourage staff to prioritise punctuality and dedication to duties, proper documentation and technological transformation.
Justice Mammadi urged judges to adhere to Shari’a principles and judicial processes, underscoring the importance of integrity in the judiciary.
Shedding more light on the inspection visit, the chief inspector of the Shari’a courts division, Damaturu Shari’a court of appeal, Mallam Haruna Maluri, commended Khadi Abba Alhaji Mammadi’s commitment to the ongoing efforts to upgrade the state’s judicial framework.
The chief inspector said the working tour is essential in the dispensation of justice, especially in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
He commended the state government’s efforts under the leadership of Governor Mai Mala Buni CON for giving all the necessary support to the justice sector and appealed for more support to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
He appealed to the state government to provide the inspection unit with a vehicle to improve service delivery and lauded the government’s efforts for establishing the Hisba commission.
Some staff of the Shari’a courts division who spoke to newsmen, Alkali Muhammad Wakil and Muhammad Hussain Gambo, expressed appreciation for the visit, saying it will go a long way in reviving the Sharia courts in the state.
During the working tour, the grand khadi visited Ngelzarma, Jajere, Potiskum and Nangere upper and lower Shari’a courts as well as the zonal office.
The Grand Khadi was accompanied by Khadi Bashir Muhammad Inuwa, Chief Registrar Garba Muhammad Degubi, Deputy Chief Registrar Mustapha Wakil, Deputy Chief Inspector, Zone B, Muhammad Bomoi and the Director of Finance and Supply of the Shari’a Court Division, Damaturu, Alhaji Fantami Garbai, among other management.
