Hajiya Aisha Sayyadi Mahmud, wife of the Emir of Ringim, Alhaji Sayyadi Mahmud, has died at the age of 83.
She reportedly died after a brief illness in Ringim, Jigawa State on Wednesday 12th August, 2016.
Her death has thrown the Ringim Emirate into mourning, with residents, relatives and well-wishers expressing grief over the loss of a respected member of the emirate.
Hajiya Aisha was survived by her husband, children and other family members.
Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State joined hundreds of mourners at her funeral prayer in Ringim.
The governor prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant her eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus and give her family, the Ringim Emirate and the people of the community the fortitude to bear the loss.
Mourners described the deceased as a mother to many and prayed for Allah to grant her paradise.
The funeral was attended by traditional rulers, government officials, family members, community leaders and other sympathisers who gathered to pay their last respects.
Her death has continued to generate sadness across Ringim, where residents mourned what they described as the loss of a mother and respected figure in the community.
