Governor Namadi receives over 1,900 decampees, endorses Tinubu for 2027

The Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has received 1,960 people who decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from opposition parties in Roni Local Government Area. The decampment ceremony was held during a citizen engagement program tagged ‘Gwamnati da Jama’a’ on September 21, 2025.

During the program, Governor Namadi, accompanied by top government officials and elected representatives, presented a two-year scorecard to the people of Roni, highlighting developmental projects in their locality. 

The governor endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 general election, citing the president’s economic programs and efforts to save the economy from collapse.

Skylink report that the people of Roni Local Government Area held the governor accountable for commissioning various developmental projects, including roads, water, education, health, and empowerment programs. They assured that they would vote for the APC in the 2027 election, citing the developmental progress they have witnessed during Governor Namadi’s administration.

The governor’s initiatives, such as the Dansure township project, were praised for their potential to save the town from severe flooding and improve the economy of the people. The Danmodi Students Care program was also commended for sponsoring over 100 students and securing university admissions for over 60 students.

The Citizens Engagement program aimed to foster transparency and accountability, with government officials presenting scorecards outlining their achievements and challenges.  The program is the government’s commitment to public accountability and citizen engagement that symbolized the dividend of democracy.
