The Dutse Local Government Council has recorded wide-ranging achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, security, and social welfare between October 2024 and June 2025, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Dr. Sibu Abdullahi the ALGON chairman Jigawa state.
The accomplishments are contained in a comprehensive report released by the Office of the Executive Chairman and signed by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Abdulrazak Adamu, detailing implemented projects, ongoing interventions, and key milestones across the eleven political wards of the local government.
Roads, Drainage, and Urban Infrastructure
Among the major infrastructure projects is the ongoing construction of the Feder Road, linking Madobi Road through Katangar Lafiya to Bakin Jeji, aimed at improving mobility and stimulating economic activities.
To tackle flooding and environmental challenges, the council constructed and upgraded drainage systems in Chamo, Duru Town, Kwaimawa, Dundubus, Warwade, Sabuwar Maranjawa, and across parts of Dutse metropolis.
Culverts were constructed at Galadanci, Gandun Fawa, Ma’ai, Zai Damfawa, and Galadanchi Primary and Secondary School, while earth-filling works were carried out at Gida Dubu and Warwade Friday Mosque.
Water Supply and Sanitation
The council drilled and installed 20 boreholes across several communities, including Sabuwar Tasha, Yan Katako, Polytechnic Area, Zai, Bayan NYSC Camp, Kudai, Mayamaya, Digawa, Abaya, Gabarin, Gidan Wanzamai Duru, Duru Cikin Gari, Larabawan Sararai, Ilorin, Asibitin Karnaya, Galamawa Quarters, Jigawar Barde, Rahama, and Kacha.
Additional interventions included fencing of water stations in Chamo and Laraba, installation of water tanks at Fagoji and Kwanar Fado, rehabilitation of a government water tanker, and conversion of the Abanderi Water Station to solar power.
Electricity and Solar Projects
Power infrastructure received significant attention with the installation, rehabilitation, and extension of HT and LT power lines across communities including Kacha, Limawa, Zobiya, Warwade, Jidawa, Sabon Garin Alhaji Goje, Fanisau New Site, Sabuwar Takur, and Sabuwar Maranjawa.
The council replaced stolen and vandalized armored cables in Kwaimawa, Zangon Buji, Dundubus, and at the Fanisau transformer, repaired transformers in Duru, Danmasara, and Madobi, and installed solar lighting systems at Simo Kacha Town, Hisbah Office, Bayan Gidan Radio, Abaderi, Larabawan Sararai, Pilgrims Mosque, Madobi Jumu’at Mosque, Kirilla Town, Dutse NARTO Park, and around the Dutse LGA Secretariat.
Religious and Community Development
The council undertook extensive mosque construction, renovation, and support projects. These include the comprehensive renovation of the Dutse Central Mosque, completion and carpeting of Sakwaya Jumu’at Mosque, renovation of Kacha Jumu’at Mosque, fencing of Limawa Jumu’at Mosque, and renovation of mosques in Dan-Isan Dutse, Kwanar Balbelu, Zitan, Birnin Gija, Kudai Gabas, Jigawar Tsada, and Galamawa.
New daily prayer mosques were constructed or completed in Gidan Dabo, Digawar Isari, Dundubus, Gurmawa, Sabuwar Chaichai, and Burtulan Town, while prayer carpets and mosque amplifiers were distributed across all eleven political wards of Dutse.
Education and Human Capital Development
The council completed a block of two classrooms with an office in Disina Town, with another block ongoing in Charka Town. Educational materials including registers, attendance sheets, exercise books, and 2,000 cartons of chalk were distributed to primary and junior secondary schools, alongside regular student transport support.
Scholarships were awarded to two volunteer teachers and 175 students studying within and outside the state, covering institutions such as Aminatu and ICRA Colleges of Nursing (Dutse), Jigawa State Polytechnic, Federal College of Education Jama’are, Institute of Information Technology Kazaure, NCE Baura Dutse, Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna, and several colleges of health sciences across Kano, Bauchi, Kaduna, and Niger States.
Healthcare and Social Services
In the health sector, the council commenced construction of health posts in Jiba, Zangon Buji, and Barangu, supplied furniture to health facilities in Tudun Wada and Garin Madora, and provided medical folders to Rasheed Shekoni Specialist Hospital and Dutse General Hospital.
Mental healthcare received sustained support through monthly repatriation of psychiatric patients to Kazaure Psychiatric Hospital and full medical sponsorship for over 170 psychiatric patients.
Agriculture and Environmental Sustainability
Agricultural interventions included renovation of the Chamo Veterinary Clinic, establishment of a mechanization centre, empowerment of 200 individuals through access to 200 hectares of land for dry-season rice farming, procurement of one new tractor, repair of two existing tractors, and establishment of a forest seedling nursery site.
Security and Governance
To strengthen security, the council provided monthly fueling of patrol vehicles, renovated police divisions in Dutse, Fanisau, and Yalwawa, installed solar power systems at the Dutse Police Division, constructed a roadside security stall at the Fanisau checkpoint, and renovated the NSCDC apartment in Chamo.
Official vehicles belonging to the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Council Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Majority Leader, Chief Whip, and the Director of Administration and General Services were also repaired.
Social Welfare and Humanitarian Interventions
The council distributed relief materials to 744 Quarters fire victims, assisted 400 vulnerable households with food items, provided financial empowerment to 260 individuals with ₦50,000 each, and supported women, youths, and artisans with sewing machines, vulcanizing machines, grinding machines, and startup kits.
Additional interventions included support to intending pilgrims, assistance to women converts to Islam, donation of sports kits and cash prizes for the Dr. Sibu Cup, support to old timers’ football clubs, and distribution of roofing sheets, cement, clothing, food items, mattresses, and beddings to victims of fire outbreaks, floods, and windstorms across several communities.

The extensive scope of projects underscores the Dutse Local Government Council’s commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots development, and improved service delivery, reflecting an administration focused on tangible impact and sustainable community growth.
