The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that all intending pilgrims from the state will be provided with three square meals daily throughout the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, disclosed this while addressing journalists at his office, describing the initiative as part of efforts to enhance the welfare and comfort of pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
He said the feeding arrangement, which is fully funded by Governor Umar Namadi, will cover all pilgrims from the state, including those with special dietary requirements.
Labbo noted that the initiative places Jigawa ahead of other states in terms of pilgrims’ welfare, stressing that it reflects the state government’s commitment to ensuring a hitch-free and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience.
According to him, adequate measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth implementation of the feeding programme, adding that the board remains focused on delivering quality services to the pilgrims.
The Board, through its Public Relations Officer, Habibu Yusuf Babura, expressed appreciation to Governor Namadi for his continued support and dedication to the welfare of Jigawa pilgrims.
The development is part of broader preparations by the state government to ensure a successful 2026 Hajj operation.
