The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Nasir Alhassan Gumel, a staff member of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, shortly after returning from the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
In a statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Isma’il Ibrahim Dutse, and Acting Secretary, Comrade Aminu Umar Shuwajo, the NUJ described the deceased’s passing as a great loss to the Pilgrims Welfare Board, Jigawa State, and the Muslim Ummah.
The Council extended its condolences to the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, the Gumel Emirate Council, the family of the deceased, and all associates affected by the loss.
The NUJ prayed for Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased and asked Almighty Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
