Governor Umar A. Namadi of Jigawa State has received the leadership of the Forum of Retired Administrative Directors of Local Governments and Retired Senior Public Officers (F-RAPO), who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House in Dutse to reaffirm their support for his administration and commend its achievements in workers’ and pensioners’ welfare.
The delegation, led by the association’s Chairman, Alhaji Gambo Mu’azu Garki, said the visit was aimed at expressing appreciation for Governor Namadi’s leadership style and the policies his administration has implemented to improve the living conditions of the people of Jigawa, particularly civil servants and retirees.
According to the group, the upward review of workers’ salaries, improvements in pension payments, and the state’s commitment to allocating substantial resources for the payment of salaries and pensions are among the key achievements that inspired the visit.
Speaking on behalf of the association, Garki praised Governor Namadi for his longstanding commitment to the welfare of public servants, recalling that his contributions dated back to his tenure as Deputy Governor, when he supported policies that enhanced the working conditions of government employees.
He stated that the time had come for the association to reciprocate the governor’s efforts by openly declaring its support for his administration. He further pledged that F-RAPO would actively participate in initiatives aimed at ensuring the governor’s successful bid for a second term in office.
Responding, Governor Namadi expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of patriotism and dedication to the progress of Jigawa State.
The governor noted that the coming together of experienced retired senior government officials under a single platform was a significant development that would contribute meaningfully to the state’s development.
He observed that such an organized forum of retired public officers was unprecedented in the history of Jigawa State and said their wealth of experience would strengthen his administration’s drive to deliver sustainable development across the state.
Governor Namadi also assured the association that both the Jigawa State Government and the All Progressives Congress (APC) would continue to involve the group in relevant government programmes and party activities to benefit from the vast knowledge, expertise and institutional experience its members accumulated during their years of public service.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, emphasizing that the experience of retired public servants remains invaluable in shaping policies that will accelerate the state’s socio-economic development.
The visit underscored the growing relationship between the Namadi administration and retired public servants, with both sides expressing optimism that closer collaboration would further strengthen governance and promote sustainable development in Jigawa State.
