The Jigawa State Government has announced that the 41st edition of the State Qur’an Recitation Competition will hold from Saturday, July 18 to Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Management Development Institute (MDI), Takur, Dutse.
The announcement was made by the Media Committee of the competition, which disclosed that the annual event is being organised by the Jigawa State Islamic Education Bureau under the leadership of its Executive Secretary, Dr. Mubarak Abdulwahab Hassan.
According to the statement, the competition is being held under the supervision of the Jigawa State Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, headed by Professor Isa Yusuf Chamo.
The committee stated that activities for the competition will commence daily at 10:00 a.m. at the MDI Conference Hall and will bring together outstanding Qur’an reciters from across the 27 local government areas of the state to compete in various categories.
It explained that the annual competition is aimed at promoting the memorisation and recitation of the Holy Qur’an, encouraging moral values among young Muslims, and strengthening Islamic education in Jigawa State.
The organisers have invited religious scholars, traditional rulers, government officials, parents, and members of the public to attend the event and support the young participants.
The Media Committee expressed optimism that this year’s edition would further promote Islamic learning and foster unity among participants and the wider community, while praying for a successful and peaceful competition.
