The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the distribution of uniforms to intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj, as part of its early preparations for the annual pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
The exercise, officially launched by the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, is aimed at ensuring that both male and female pilgrims are properly kitted ahead of the airlift operations scheduled to begin between May 4 and May 5.
According to the Board, all intending pilgrims are expected to sew their uniforms in line with the approved specifications to maintain uniformity and order during the pilgrimage.

Speaking at the flag-off, Alhaji Labbo expressed appreciation to Governor Umar Namadi for his sustained support towards the success of Hajj operations in the state.
He also urged pilgrims to conduct themselves in a disciplined and responsible manner throughout the exercise, noting that good behavior remains a key requirement during the spiritual journey.
In a move to cater for the health needs of pilgrims, the Board further disclosed that special meal arrangements would be made available for those with diabetes while in the Holy Land.
