The wife of the Jigawa State Governor and First Lady, Hajiya Hadiza Umar Namadi, has commended pilgrims from the state for their discipline, modesty and adherence to Islamic teachings during the ongoing 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The First Lady gave the commendation during her visit to Jigawa pilgrims in Makkah, where she expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the pilgrims, particularly the women, whom she praised for maintaining dignity and wearing proper hijab throughout their stay in the holy land.
Hajiya Hadiza said the orderly behaviour and moral conduct displayed by the pilgrims had projected a positive image of Jigawa State among other pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
She also applauded the pilgrims for remaining committed to the feeding arrangements provided by the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board instead of roaming about in search of food on the streets.
According to her, the decision of the pilgrims to stay within their accommodation and eat the three square meals provided by the board reflects discipline, unity and obedience to laid down guidelines.
“I am very happy seeing our pilgrims, especially the women, maintaining their dignity and dressing modestly with proper hijab. This is highly commendable and worthy of emulation,” she said.
The First Lady further advised female pilgrims to continue seeking Islamic knowledge in order to perform acts of worship in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
She reminded them of their religious obligations by quoting verses from the Holy Qur’an and relevant Hadiths, urging them to remain steadfast in worship, prayers and good conduct throughout the Hajj exercise.
As part of her support to the pilgrims, Hajiya Hadiza donated cash and other items to them, with special attention to women pilgrims who received hijabs and other welfare materials.
She also commended the leadership of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board for what she described as impressive efforts in ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
In his remarks, the Director General of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, expressed appreciation to the First Lady for her visit and humanitarian support to the pilgrims.
Labbo described the visit as a “golden visit” that brought joy and encouragement to both the management of the board and the pilgrims.
He said the board, under the directive of the Jigawa State Government, had made adequate arrangements to ensure the welfare of all pilgrims by securing accommodation close to Masjidil Haram and providing quality feeding services throughout their stay in Makkah.
The Director General urged the pilgrims to continue obeying the rules and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the guidelines set by the Jigawa State Government to sustain the state’s reputation for discipline and orderly conduct during Hajj operations.
He added that the peaceful atmosphere and satisfaction among Jigawa pilgrims were clear indications of the government’s commitment to ensuring a successful and hitch-free Hajj exercise for its citizens.
