Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar A. Namadi, has approved the reinstatement of 28 political aides and appointed eight additional aides as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Malam Bala Ibrahim, and signed by the Public Relations Officer in the Office of the SSG, Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse.
According to the statement, the reinstated officials comprise 14 Special Advisers, six Senior Special Assistants, and eight Special Assistants, while eight new appointees have also been brought into the administration.
Among the reinstated Special Advisers are Dr. Atiku Hafiz (Public Health), Saleh Ahmed Birniwa (Youth Mobilisation), Abdurrahman Alkassim (Local Government Affairs I), Haladu Usman (Project Monitoring), Khalid S. Ibrahim (Support Groups), Dr. Habib Aminu Kani (Technology and Innovation), Hudu Babangida (Senior Citizens), Safiyanu Abba Sankara (Health Matters), Haruna Mairiga (Social Security), Ibrahim Hussaini Kadeta (Trade and Commerce), Ismaila Abdul’aziz (Micro Finance Bank), Adamu Idris Andaza (Social Protection), Abdulwahab T. Sulaiman (SEMA), and Hassan Alhaji Musa (Human Resources).
The governor also reinstated six Senior Special Assistants, including Hamza Gada Bala (Assembly Matters), Husseini Umar BK (Industrial Relations), Shu’aibu Inuwa Basirka (Nutrition), Mansur Shehu (MSMEs and Financial Inclusion), Abdurrashid Illah Ringim (JASCO), and Aliyu Abubakar Aliyu (Youth Mobilisation, Ringim Emirate).
The eight reinstated Special Assistants are Siraj Muhammad (Project Monitoring), Muhammad Fatihu Adamu (Health Monitoring), Aliyu Umar Abubakar (Health Monitoring, Birnin Kudu LGA), Salisu Yau (Higher Education), Haruna Mustapha Jahun (Due Process), Tijjani Sayyadi (Drug Abuse and Rape), Yusha’u Abdu (Health Monitoring), and Garba A. Abdullahi (Community Mobilisation).
Governor Namadi also approved the appointment of eight new aides. They include Professor Muftahu Sa’adu Majia as Technical Adviser on Higher Education, Hajiya Salma Wakili as Special Adviser on Entrepreneurship, Adamu Yusuf Garkuwa as Special Adviser on Hajj Affairs, Mubarak Aliyu as Special Adviser on Intergovernmental Affairs, Musbahu Rabi’u Kaugama as Special Adviser on Investment Promotion, Bala Sule Kila as Special Adviser on NGOs, Umar Sa’idu Janbola as Senior Special Assistant on Hajj Affairs, and Bayero Maifulani as Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation.
The SSG said the appointments were made based on merit, competence and personal integrity, expressing confidence that the appointees would bring their experience and expertise to bear in advancing the present administration’s development agenda.
He congratulated the newly appointed and reinstated aides and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by discharging their responsibilities with commitment, dedication and accountability.
The statement added that all the appointments and reinstatements take immediate effect.
