The Chairman of Dutse Local Government Area and ALGON Chairman in Jigawa State, Malam Sibu Abdullahi, has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to supporting security agencies in maintaining peace and stability across the state.
The chairman stated this while receiving the Commissioner of Police, Jigawa State Command, CP Haruna A.Y., who paid him an official visit at the Dutse Local Government Secretariat as part of the Commissioner’s stakeholder engagement tour across the 27 local government areas of the state.
CP Haruna was accompanied by his deputy, assistant commissioners, and other senior officers of the command during the visit, which focused on strengthening collaboration between the police and local government authorities on issues affecting public safety and security.
Speaking during the meeting, Malam Sibu Abdullahi said the engagement provided an important platform to deliberate on critical security challenges confronting communities in Dutse and Jigawa State as a whole.
According to him, discussions centred on strategies to tackle drug abuse, deforestation, election-related violence, farmer-herder clashes, and other emerging threats capable of disrupting peace and social harmony.
The chairman commended the Commissioner of Police for what he described as his proactive leadership style and efforts aimed at fostering synergy among stakeholders in the collective fight against crime and insecurity.
He noted that peace and security remain essential ingredients for sustainable development, assuring the police command of the continued support and cooperation of the Dutse Local Government administration.
“As a government, we understand that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of insecurity. That is why we remain committed to supporting security agencies in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities,” he said.
Malam Sibu further disclosed that the local government had renovated three out of the four police divisions in Dutse LGA as part of efforts to improve security infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency of the police.
He added that renovation work on the remaining police division was currently ongoing and would soon be completed.
The ALGON chairman also expressed appreciation to the Commissioner of Police and his entourage for the visit, while wishing them success in their efforts to safeguard lives and property across Jigawa State.
The visit is part of the Jigawa State Police Command’s ongoing stakeholder engagement initiative aimed at deepening cooperation with community leaders and local authorities in addressing security challenges at the grassroots level.
