The Emir of Dutse and 2026 Amirul Hajj, Alhaji Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi, has sensitised Jigawa State pilgrims on the dos and don’ts of the Hajj exercise as preparations intensify for their movement from Madinah to Makkah.
The royal father gave the advice during a meeting with the state’s intending pilgrims held on Thursday, May 8, 2026, in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the pilgrims, the Amirul Hajj urged them to remain law-abiding, disciplined and prayerful throughout their stay in the holy land, stressing the importance of observing the rules guiding Hajj rites and conduct in both Madinah and Makkah.
He reminded the pilgrims to uphold the image of Jigawa State and Nigeria by maintaining good character, mutual respect and patience while performing the spiritual exercise.
Alhaji Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sunusi also announced that the first batch of Jigawa pilgrims would depart Madinah for Makkah on Friday, May 9, 2026, to commence Umrah rites ahead of the main Hajj activities.
According to him, arrangements for the movement were adequately put in place, assuring the pilgrims of a smooth and hitch-free journey.
The Amirul Hajj further called on the pilgrims to use the opportunity of their stay in the holy land to offer special prayers for peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria and Jigawa State.
He commended Governor Malam Umar Namadi for his continuous support and commitment towards the welfare of Jigawa pilgrims, noting that the state government had provided the necessary assistance to ensure a successful Hajj operation.
Speaking at the meeting, the Director-General of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, represented by the Director of Planning and Statistics, assured the pilgrims that the government would continue to prioritise their welfare throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.
He said the board had put adequate measures in place to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of the pilgrims in both Madinah and Makkah.
The official also praised Governor Umar Namadi and the Amirul Hajj for their dedication, leadership and concern for the welfare of the pilgrims.
Some of the intending pilgrims who spoke during the meeting expressed appreciation to the Jigawa State Government and the Emir of Dutse for the support, guidance and hospitality extended to them since their arrival in Saudi Arabia.
They described the arrangements and coordination of the pilgrimage exercise as commendable and prayed for Allah’s blessings upon the state leadership.
