A community-based educational support initiative, ME Rice Students Care, has recorded remarkable achievements in promoting access to education and supporting students across Jahun Local Government Area between January and June 2026.
The Special Assistant on Students Matters, Jahun Local Government Area, Abdurrashid Adamu, disclosed that the programme has continued to provide educational opportunities and financial support to students at various levels.
According to him, the initiative sponsored the registration of 250 candidates for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination, easing the financial burden on parents and encouraging more young people to pursue higher education.
He explained that the organisation also screened and facilitated admission for 100 students into the College of Legal Studies, Ringim, while conducting computer-based training sessions to prepare candidates for the JAMB examination.
As part of its support for educational institutions and community service, the programme donated 10 carpets to members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving at Government Day Secondary School (GDSS), Jahun.
Abdurrashid further revealed that the organisation paid accommodation fees for its students studying at the College of Legal Studies, Ringim, and provided scholarships and educational assistance to youths from Jahun Local Government Area.
The programme also sponsored online registration for students seeking admission into the Federal Science and Technical College, Hadejia, and provided refreshments during online registration exercises for candidates of Suleja Academy and the National Common Entrance Examination.
In addition, the organisation arranged transportation for students participating in entrance examinations into the Federal Government Academy (Gifted and Talented School), Suleja, and the Federal Science and Technical College, Hadejia, ensuring that deserving candidates were able to sit for their examinations without difficulty.
To further improve students’ chances of success, ME Rice Students Care organised tutorial sessions and coaching programmes on examination techniques and computer-based testing for candidates preparing for the Federal Science and Technical College and Federal Government Academy entrance examinations.
The initiative also provided refreshments for candidates sitting for the National Common Entrance Examination and sponsored transportation for students attending interviews at Santami, Dutse.
As part of its campaign against illiteracy, the organisation enrolled students under its educational intervention programme at Aishatu Academy and sponsored 38 students for part-time National Certificate in Education (NCE) programmes.
Abdurrashid Adamu stated that the achievements recorded within six months demonstrate the commitment of the initiative to improving educational opportunities and empowering young people in Jahun Local Government Area.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s determination to continue supporting students and contributing to human capital development through education, mentorship, and scholarship programmes.
